Birding in the Overberg during the dry season certainly presents difficulties and a few frustrations. But the sixteen Hermanus birders who left Hermanus on Tuesday 29 March rose to the challenge and between us we bagged over 90 birds during our away trip.

The accommodation at Aloe Ridge on the Breede River was excellent with lovely views over the river. Each night we revived our weary bones with a good old braai and salads and desserts, all washed down with wine and a beer or two.
