With the HBC not having had any meetings, activities or projects for such a long time, it is a relief to be able to resume activities and contribute to our birding community again.
To start off on a very positive note, the committee decided to make the following financial contributions: R5000 to African Penguin & Seabird Sanctuary in Gansbaai, R5000 to BirdLife South Africa’s Marion Island eradication of house mice project http://www.mousefreemarion.org.za/ and a R2500 ‘present’ to BirdLife South Africa to celebrate their 25th birthday.
