We have been barging in Europe on four occasions and I am always reminded how much people like messing around with boats. I know we certainly enjoyed it immensely, and the camaraderie of being on the water with friends is hard to beat. The only times it got fraught was when we were out of control in a lock, or a strong wind, or when there was competition to be skipper!
