A clients Brazilian Raintree I just unwired and defoliated (yes. It was 46 degrees last night and won't be much warmer tonight). If you look at the other pics, you'll see signs of senescence on the old leaves, and the new buds showing tumescence. They are ready to burst. By defoliating now, we make way for the new buds to grow into branches and leaves, thus refuting the soul sucking entropic malaise that winter tropical bonsai growing can create. #bonsai #bonsaiart #bonsaitree #floridabonsai #tropicalbonsai
