These sturdy little black, gray and white sparrows weather all weather,  cold and wet is just another day of busyness.  Today I watched one bathing during a cold, hard rain.  Each streak a falling raindrop:

And juncos cannot resisting going to seed:

About 245PM a Cooper’s Hawk landed near our feeders to check out the menu.  All the potential tidbits had flown off to hide.  He left empty-taloned…but he will return.
Other birds today:

The ducks were all in the old water-filled quarry on Fox Ridge Road–Common mergansers, GW Teal, ring-necks.  The red-tail was at No Name Pond.  The scrub-jay near our house and the male towhee on one of our feeders.
Our warbler count remains one at our feeders, the ssme bullying Audubon’s…boy, he really despises those pesky chickadees that come as a trio and scatter making it difficult for him to manage all three at once.
