Timbi lake is a place off Waghodia road that contains a huge beautiful lake with large marshy fields surrounding it and tall grasses sheltering myriad birds. As a part of the heritage week, Chirag Munjani thought it is important to point out the natural heritage of Baroda as much as it is important to revel in its cultural heritage.And thus this Timbi lake birding excursion came into being.

It is always exciting to try and spot birds hidden among the trees, hidden as if in plain sight sometimes, diverting our attention by their calls and cues. We reached the spot at 7 am just to see the sun rising over the tall marshy grasses. To the uninitiated eye it is a bit tough to spot birds but soon with expert guidance in the group we were able to get a few good sightings .
