These two pics are from my last demo at The Bonsai Supply (photo credit to Mari). A before and after. I cherish the time I get to spend teaching (thank you Mari and Jerome) Bonsai is about trees. But it’s about relationships too. Our Art is a relationship between the tree; we work on the tree but, as Ed Trout says, the trees work on us. They teach us patience, responsibility, boundaries, and love. But the people in Bonsai, and the relationships we make when we teach, or collaborate with, or share our love of the trees with, they are what make Bonsai great. Without those relationships, I’d be a hermit, as is my natural tendency. But there’s something about bonsai people that get me out of the garden and compel me to share my love and passion, my Art and knowledge. This weekend, in Miami, Florida, my friends David and Todd, and myself are putting on a bonsai show called Komorebi2019. It has some seriously amazing artists. But it will be a gathering of bonsai friends, and that’s gathering is just as important. If you’re within a few hours of Miami, make the trip. By air, rail, or car, make the trip, come down and say “Hello!” @komorebibonsai @ekitainoken @thebonsaisupply KomorebiBonsai.com #komorebibonsai #bonsaiart #bonsaiworld #bonsai #art #bonsaitree #盆栽 #penjing
