may pairIt is really pleasing when some very modest outlay pays good returns, my father was a Yorkshire man so I have one careful streak thanks to him. These two trees then , the Hawthorn I acquired as a 3 or 4 foot sapling from my daughter’s garden wild spot two years ago, cut it down at about 9 inches and trained up new leader and kept an eye on the young branches with wire.And the leaves unless they suddenly go mad have reduced quite amazingly.The berberis cost £7 I think at a garden centre last May, I cut away about half or more and exposed a bit more trunk and wired to give slight swept appearance. Very dodgy wiring berberis. So two nice little trees, looking good with even better potential in less than two years for less than £8. As much as I would like to have some super aged…
