The Malachite Kingfisher Bird Hide is one of the two permanent bird watching hides located in the conservation area of the “Vleie” in the Wilderness, and is situated on the northern shore of the Bo-Langvlei Lake. The hide is named for the various species of Kingfishers which are abundant in the area, and may be seen fishing from their fishing perches.
