Latest additions for my garden list here at The Lakeside in Muizenberg are a couple of Karoo Prinias in the restio and erica and other fynbos plants which is planted around our garden.

Have also had Olive Thrush, Cape Robin-chat, and Cape White-eyes have been having a ball, as well as a couple of Cape Wagtail.

I also have a Common Fiscal Shrike visiting my varandah. Strange bird for a birdfeeder of seed. Perhaps he just comes for some water or it is a good vantage point for hawking miggies, flies or butterflies.

Just been hearing the ‘tik tik tik’ of the prinias who seem to have made the reed beds and fynbos garden their home now.
