Latest Observations

Today new observations.

On ariving home from work today I went to observe my birdy friends. The female Cape Weavers are really going wild carrying food to their nests making it a definate that there are going to be plenty of Weaver juveniles this summer. This wetland behind our complex is positively teeming with birdlife, and I am sure they really appreciate the plentyful supply of food my birdfeeder is providing.

A strange behaviour I noticed too is that the Common waxbills creep aeound on the ground under the restios and other fynbos bushes growing in our gardens. They seem to sense me watching and scurry between bushes. Just a pity I don’t have a camera to record all this activity. Hope to have that rectified soon.

Happy birding and Chow once again.
